Origine
Originaire du nord-ouest de l’Amérique du Sud, la Tomate ou Solanum lycopersium L. tire son nom de l’espagnol tomate, lui-même emprunté au nahuatl (langue de la famille uto-aztèque) tomatl qui désignait le fruit de la tomatille Physalis ixocarpa. C’est une espèce de plantes herbacées de la famille des Solanacées. Largement diffusé depuis sa découverte, c’est probablement le fruit le plus utilisé dans la gastronomie de nombreux pays dans le monde, de la sauce ketchup aux entrées accompagnées de la fameuse mozzarella, sans oublier les sauces pour accompagner les pâtes comme la sauce bolognaise. Il est d’ailleurs largement consommé en Grèce (72 kg par hab./an), Italie, Espagne et France pour ne citer que les pays Européens.

Description
Nous vous proposons ici une poudre concentré, au goût très prononcé et franc de tomate bien mûre. Idéale, pour réaliser des pâtes feuilletées à la tomate, rehausser une sauce, un jus ou autres préparations qui nécessitent une base sèche.
